Pedro was coached and advised by two very good friends, Mr. Primo Zuccotti and Mr. Idelfonso Soler, dealers of Ligie and Frejus.
At 18, Pedro participated in the Rio Platense Championship in Argentina, defending the blue and white flag of Uruguay. After the Rio Platense Championship, Pedro participated in championship races in Chile, Trinidad and Tobago and Winnipeg, Canada. Pedro also competed in the World Sprint Championship in Uruguay in 1968, together with the Olympic Champion, Fredborg.
Pedro competed in Brazil for two years, racing for the Sport Club, "Caloi de San Pablo." In his home country of Uruguay, Pedro won all the titles in his catagory (whether rank or class) and competed for 17 years from 1958 to 1975. At the same time, Pedro established his own specialty bicycle shop, making custom frames and doing repairs. In 2000, Pedro arrived in the United States to continue his specialization and forge a better future for his family and himself. Pedro has been working as a senior mechanic with Bicycle World ever since.
