Reggie Dean. Manager

Reggie is a thirty-something California native who refuses to stop wearing shorts, even in the winter. He has but one motto: "Buy the best bike you can afford and go ride it." It all started back in 1997, when a couple of his friends invited him to go mountain biking, and he set off on a quest for a bike. He quickly found a second-hand 1996 Trek 970 fully rigid steel mountain bike for $250.00. After one ride at China Camp, a great set of trails in famed Marin County, CA, Reggie knew he had to get front suspension. Off he went to his local shop, and $500 later he saw the light.

Over the next year, Reggie went to the shop every payday tp replace mangled and broken parts, upgrading everything he could. When the local wrenches dubbed him The One Man Wrecking Ball, he figured he should just join the ranks and get a job in the industry. After only a year of riding, Reggie found himself a new career in bike sales and repairs.

That was back in 1998; fast foward to the present, and he has accepted the task of managing Bicycle World. Most of Reggie's experience has been in retail bike shops, selling and repairing all kinds of bikes and equipment. Reggie has also spent some on the other side of the bicycle industry, building wheels for Cane Creek and serving as a mechanic for their women's NORBA Pro Mountain Bike team.

Besides working in the industry, Reggie participated in a handful of cross-country moutain bike races and competed at the expert level in Downhill mountain bike racing. As of a year ago, Reggie has added road cycling to the list of his hobbies. Before falling into cycling, Reggie was a die-hard motorcyclist. Riding for fun and competing in motorcycle races, Reggie was a passenger on a road racing sidecar team for 2 years. With a welding degree in hand, Reggie intends to produce custom bicycle frames for those customers who are looking for that special something. Reggie is very knowledgable about all facets of cycling and can suggests which suspension forks a customer should consider, which disk brakes work well when properly setup for your carbon-steered fork, or advise you on the proper fit on your road bike.
